Authenticity, architecture and art in a typical Salento building from the early 1900s located in Spongano. Town immersed among the centuries-old olive groves surrounded by the dry stone walls of Lower Salento, overlooking the gates of Castro and its blue sea or on suggestive natural inlets among the most beautiful in Salento such as the ‘Cala dell’Acquaviva’ to enjoy in complete relaxation an experience that aims to be a hymn to true contemporary luxury.

A few steps from the historic center of Spongano, La Casa dell’Arte reveals itself as a typical independent Salento house from the early twentieth century reborn thanks to the vision of Gianni Veneziano, artist, design and architect and the designer Luciana Di Virgilio (founders of the studio Di Virgilio Venetian), thanks to a philological and evolutionary restoration respecting the territorial architecture. In fact, the typical star vaults have been enhanced, the period wall decorations have been brought to light, and the typical cementine and Lecce stone floors have been preserved and enhanced. The new materials, such as tadelakt in the bathrooms and for the kitchen area floor, were chosen in full harmony with the existing ones. A suggestive architectural intervention is given by the square spiral staircase in Brutalist concrete which connects the three levels of the property (ground floor, first floor and terraces).

You enter directly into a large kitchen and living room, a junction between the living area on the ground floor and the sleeping area on the first floor. Countless windows and glass windows guarantee full, warm light throughout the day thanks to exposure on four sides. The rooms are characterized by a clean appearance that highlights and enhances the many original details of the property. Three bathrooms, one of which is en suite has a spacious built-in tub with rain shower, the other two bathrooms are equipped with large showers. There are collectible designer and arte povera furniture. A garden of over 200 m2 is divided into different areas offering the possibility of having breakfast, lunch and dinner outdoors, dedicating yourself to the vegetable garden, or relaxing by the private swimming pool surrounded by the green of the lawn among aromas and trees dating back to the house construction.
